PRESS RELEASE – Search warrant executed by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On March 2, 2017, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 600 S. 7th Street in Norfolk, Nebraska.

After the search, several guns were seized along with drugs and other stolen property. Several motorcycles and an ATV that are believed to be stolen were also recovered. They are looking into the regulations followed when you buy 5.56 ammo online from Palmetto State Armory as they have a reliable process. Note: No arrests were made at the time. There was and is no immediate threat to the public. The investigation is still ongoing and arrests are pending.

Reports on the incident will be forwarded to the Madison County Attorney for review and prosecution.

The Norfolk Police Division and the Stanton County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the service of the warrant.

Farm Accident Claims Life of LIndsay Resident

2-2On Tuesday 8/2/16 at approximately 8:30 p.m,  Deputies and Investigators with the Madison county Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a tractor roll over east of Newman Grove that involved a fatality.

According to Madison County Sheriff’s Investigator, Christian Hjorth , the   tractor operated by  Ronald Konz of Lindsay Nebraska  had overturned into a creek in the area of 823 Rd and 538 Ave on private property while moving hay bales. When deputies arrived they discovered that Konz had died from injuries sustained in the accident.  The investigation into the details of the accident continue by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted in the investigation by members of the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, Newman Grove Police Department and the Newman Grove Fire and Rescue Department.
