On 9/8/2024, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop east of Tilden. Deputies stopped a white Toyota Forerunner and found that the driver, 47 year-old Jerimiah Hupke of Tilden, was driving with a suspended license. Hupke was placed under arrest for the driving offense. During a subsequent search of the vehicle drug related items were located. Deputies also located property that was determined to have been stolen during a recent residential burglary in the city of Norfolk. Acting on this information, deputies obtained a search warrant for Hupke’s residence in Tilden, Nebraska. During the search of the residence, deputies located multiple drugs and drug related items. Deputies also located a homemade explosive device. The Nebraska State Patrol Bomb Unit removed and disposed of the device. 35 year-old Christopher Tiedke of Tilden was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Hupke was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance in addition to the original driving offense. Both subjects are currently being housed in the Madison County Jail. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, and Tilden Police Department. This case remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff Office. Sheriff Todd Volk |
