In the early hours of Sunday morning, August 10, 2025, a traffic stop on Highway 81 turned into a bizarre and eventful arrest after a nude driver was found hauling a stolen motorcycle and drug paraphernalia. At approximately 1:00 a.m., A Deputy with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling near mile marker 159 on HWY 81, north of Norfolk, when he observed a pickup truck pulling a trailer without functioning lights. Upon activating his emergency lights, the vehicle failed to stop immediately, continuing north before eventually pulling over eastbound on Northeast Industrial Highway. The vehicle, a gray Chevy 2500 with Iowa plates, was hauling two motorcycles on a flatbed trailer. When the Deputy approached the truck, he found the driver — later identified as Kipp Polston, 47, of Iowa — completely nude, using a pair of pants to cover himself. When asked why he was naked, Polston stated he was “hot” and “allergic to his own sweat.” Polston informed the Deputy that his driver’s license was expired and possibly suspended due to an unpaid citation. Dispatch later confirmed that his license was, in fact, suspended. During the interaction, Polston’s alertness deteriorated rapidly, leading the Deputy to initially request medical assistance. However, after regaining composure, Polston was arrested for Driving Under Suspension. He then disclosed to the Deputy that he had a “pipe and dab” in the vehicle — slang commonly associated with marijuana concentrates. As the Deputy attempted to place Polston in the patrol vehicle, the suspect resisted, claiming claustrophobia, and dropped to the ground, refusing to move. A backup Deputy arrived, and Polston was transported by that Deputy. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered:
Both motorcycles were run through dispatch. One — a black Honda Goldwing — was reported stolen and will be processed as evidence. The second motorcycle, a black Kawasaki, was registered to a different Iowa resident and was not listed as stolen. Polston was transported to the Madison County Jail and is facing multiple charges, including:
The vehicle, trailer, and both motorcycles were impounded and taken to the Madison Sheriff’s Office lot. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Nebraska State Patrol and Norfolk Fire and Rescue. ## |
