Madison County Sheriff’s Office Completes Make It Click Campaign The Madison County Sheriff’s Office recently concluded its participation in the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office’s Make It Click seat belt enforcement campaign, which ran from May 15 through May 31, 2026. During the campaign, deputies conducted 371 traffic contacts, issued 240 citations, and provided 190 warnings while focusing on seat belt compliance, impaired driving, speeding, and distracted driving. Enforcement efforts resulted in:
Fifteen deputies participated in the campaign, dedicating additional time and resources to improving roadway safety throughout Madison County. “Traffic enforcement saves lives,” said Sheriff Todd Volk. “Our goal is to encourage safe driving habits and ensure everyone gets home safely. Seat belts remain one of the most effective tools for preventing serious injuries and fatalities in traffic crashes.” As part of the campaign, the Sheriff’s Office conducted pre- and post-campaign seat belt observations and found a decline in seat belt usage among drivers and passengers. “We encourage everyone to buckle up every trip, every time,” Volk said. “It only takes a few seconds and could save your life.” The Madison County Sheriff’s Office thanks motorists who make safe driving a priority and reminds everyone that traffic safety enforcement continues year-round. |
