FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 24, 2025

Two-Vehicle Accident on West Eisenhower Avenue, Norfolk

Norfolk, NE – On September 24, 2025, Madison County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident near the 1600 block of West Eisenhower Avenue in Norfolk, Nebraska.

The initial investigation determined that a sport utility vehicle (SUV), driven by 64-year-old Julie Sauser of Plainview, NE, was stopped in a marked construction zone that had been reduced to one lane.

A single rear-axle box truck, driven by 23-year-old Jayden Grove of Sioux City, IA, approached from behind and failed to brake, striking the rear of the stopped SUV. The collision caused substantial damage to the SUV, which was occupied by Sauser alone. The box truck also sustained disabling damage. Both vehicles required towing from the scene.

The driver of the SUV was transported by Norfolk Fire and Rescue to Faith Regional Health Services for treatment.

Due to the location of the accident on a hillside and a significant loss of engine fluids, City of Norfolk crews were dispatched to conduct a roadway cleanup.

The construction zone was properly marked with signage, cones, equipment displaying flashing lights, and a flagman wearing NDOT-compliant safety gear.

The crash remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. No further details are available at this time.
