A routine traffic stop conducted on 9-8-2024 by Madison County Sheriff’s deputies had yielded two more felony arrests. On Sunday, Jeremiah Hupke was arrested and jailed for charge of driving under suspension and possession of property stolen from a burglary in Norfolk in July 2024. Further investigation on that day led to the execution of a search warrant at Hupke’s residence in TIlden. That effort resulted in additional charge of possession of a controlled substance to be filed against Hupke. Another resident of the Tilden home, Christopher Tiedke, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at this time. A homemade bomb was also found at the residence which was disposed of by the Nebraska State Patrol bomb unit. On 9-11-2024 another search warrant was served at 814 S. 12th in Norfolk based on information gained in follow up investigations. More stolen property from the July burglary was recovered and more drugs and drug-related items were seized. As a result, two more people were arrested on felony charges: Christopher G. Wallace, 34 was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property, destruction of evidence, and possession of a controlled substance. Wallace listed his address as homeless when booked into jail. Desiree D. (Barg) Armstrong, 46, was also arrested for theft by receiving stolen property, destruction of evidence, and possession of a controlled substance. Armstrong listed her residence as Norfolk. This investigation is still ongoing. Sheriff Todd Volk |
