On April 8, 2023 Nancy Zavala, age 37 of Madison, dropped off undergarments for an inmate of the jail, which is allowed during normal visitation hours. During a routine search of the property, deputies discovered methamphetamine hidden in the undergarments. Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Zavala on suspicion of Possession of Methamphetamine and Obstructing Government Operations during her visitation with an inmate. Sheriff Todd Volk commented “Our corrections officers have to be on the lookout constantly for contraband being introduced into the jail.” He added “This is just one example of their hard work and dedication to duty.” |
