On January 7th, 2023 at approximately 10:40 A.M. Jeremiah Wagner  (43) and Stephanie Brugman (29) were driving Eastbound on 837th Rd. in the area of 554th Ave.  when they collided with the side of a train that was traveling Northbound. Wagner was transported by EMS to Faith Regional Health Services via Norfolk Rescue, and Brugman was transported by Life Flight to a Sioux City hospital, for her injuries.  The occupants were not wearing their seatbelts and their vehicle, a 2002 GMC Denali, is considered a total loss.
